On October 22, 2025, Glenwood proudly welcomed Rita Miceli back to our school. Rita has published a powerful book and begun touring schools to share her message about education as empowerment. Through her heartfelt story of love, family, and the power of being different, she inspired both students and staff. Her book, Giaci and Me: A Mother鈥檚 Journey of Loving and Raising an Autistic Child, captures the remarkable growth of her entire family. During her visit, Rita reflected on the progress society has made in understanding autism while reminding us of the important work that still lies ahead to continue learning, growing, and building empathy together.

On October 6, our students participated in the School Bus Evacuation Training. The event went very well and was a great success!

Students learned how to safely evacuate a school bus in case of an emergency and practiced the proper steps to stay calm and follow directions. The training was well-organized, and the students enjoyed the experience while gaining important safety skills.

On September 22, 2025, Glenwood Public School proudly raised the Every Child Matters flag to honour Truth and Reconciliation. The event was a meaningful success, bringing together parents, staff, and students in a powerful moment of reflection.

It served as a deep reminder of the experiences of residential school survivors and the importance of keeping them, their families, and their stories in our hearts and actions. Together, we reaffirm our commitment to truth, reconciliation, and creating a future where every child is valued and respected.
